Driver seatbelt tensioner wont let out seatbelt
Hi guys, new here and I spent 2 hours searching for an answer but couldnt find anything yet, sorry if this has been posted before...
My dad has a 2004 S500 and the driver's seatbelt wont spool out of the side pillar. The only way to get it out is to pull *very* slowly otherwise it stops spinning (like when you pull really fast)...
Is this something that can be reset or do we need a new seatbelt mechanism? Any help would be appreciated!

Anyone else have any experience? I called the dealer today and they quoted $600 for a new seatbelt and $500 for labor...

Seatbelt
I have the same problem with the driver's side belt on my 2003 s430. The dealer quoted $800. I read here or on another message board that you can get them used for much less.
