How to remove the center dash vent?

This sucker makes a bit of noise on my car, and its annoying. I'd like to remove it and work on eliminating the creaking noise.

The thing is pretty expensive for a piece of plastic ($2XX), and therefore, I'd prefer not to break it upon removal.

Any tips on this would be great.

Thanks.

well that was easy enough. I put some felt in there, and that helped with a little creaking, but the center grille is still very flimsy.

why this needed to be two pieces, I'm not sure.
