Since I don't think anything else really changed between the 98 and 99 SL500... do you know if the performance was affected positively or negatively by the decrease in HP and TQ?

Oddly enough, although the '99 SL500 had less horsepower and torque than the '98, it was slightly faster from 0-60 at 6.1 seconds, versus 6.4 for the '98. Go figure.
