what is the S designated for? I know the SLK means Sportly Light Short. But not too sure about the S-class. Also, does anyone have a wind deflector on their s-class does it look any good?

I think thse S stands for Special, or the German equivilent. There is a post related to this somewhere on this site or another MB site that I have seen.

I was close!
S stands for Super, and has since the early MB's. This info is in a post on this site titled "Letters in naming".

From the MB website:
"The legendary 'S' suffix began at a race on the Nurburgring on 19th June 1927, and established a lead that has never been relinquished through several different incarnations. The 'S' originally stood for sport, but is now recognised simply as the mark of Mercedes-Benz's flagship model."
