Service B
My car is telling me I need a Service B in 30 days. Is it that important that I get one in that time? I just had it serviced for the service A not too long ago. what does it consist of? I called my dealer and they want over $500.00 to do it. I just don't want to spend that kind of money for someone to change the oil. From what I understand they dont actually do that much to the car it's more of checking for any problems. is this true?
Thanks
Thanks

Service A and B are approximatley 10K miles apart (varies with your driving, condition of oil, etc.). How many miles have you driven the car since your Svc. A ?
B service is about $450 to $500 at the Dealer(great source of revenue), Independent shops do it for $250. It is mostly check this and check that plus an oil/filter change and depneding on mileage cabin air filter change, engine air filter change, wipers, etc.

Thanks Corsa, Since I really don't drive that much I would assume It;s been about 5-6k miles.it just seems like a very expensive oil change to me.

It is. 6-7K miles is a little too early for another service. If you have a good Independent place on Long Island, try them.
Good luck!

The FSS will also tell you you have X number of days if the time since last service approaches a year. You might want to have your oil changed (but for much less than $500). Be sure you use an MB-approved oil.
