01 s500 vs. 03 s500?

Hello Folks,

I've been driving my 06 ML 500 for the past 3 years or so, looking for a S500.

Found an '01 S500 w/ 55K miles, and an '03 S500 w/ 90k miles, similar condition, carfax checks out. Extended warranty available on both cars.

Is the '03 much superior to the '01? in terms of innovations & technologies, when comparing the "S" class?

Any input is much appreciated, and apologize if I missed earlier posts on similar subject.

S500
the earlier 00-02 s class are known to be finicky with their electronics, and suspension. From what I have heard the 03+ S class is more refined with many of the bugs worked out and improvements were made. If your looking for innovation/technologies. The more obvious navigation/stero/audio was improved and you got a wide screen also you Bixenon headlamps.

As far as options go Im sure their are more available such as distronic I think was only available for 03+ (could be wrong) but alot of the options for 03 were also available for 00-02 just are improved on the 03 model

there are quite alot of upgrades from the earlier 00-02 ones. If I could I would go for an 03+ car for car I think they are more reliable. not to mention you get those KICK **** ALL CHROME KICK PANELS sheer luxury compared to my dull stainless ones
