225/60/16 rims on 2003 s500 4matic OK?

2003 s500 4matic; 1994 e420; 1988 YJ (wife calls Death Trap); : sold 1992 300D; retired 1988 300se
225/60/16 rims on 2003 s500 4matic OK?
Will these work ok on my car? The offset is the same at 46, the stud is 14mm (came of RWD s500) but I'm concerned about brake clearance etc. I have the standard 4matic model with the stock Aimatic system, it currently has the same Carmenta style rims but in 17", I want to buy these four 16" for winter tires. The tire height is near the same :
225/55/r17=26.74 inches
225/60/r16=26.63 inches

16" s500 rims DO NOT FIT on s500 4matic
Ok folks, I drove 3 and a half hours yesterday to find out that original 16" Merc s500 rims will not fit s500 4matic. The front brakes are too damn big! (kinda nice to complain about...) These cars have bigger front brakes than a standard 500 I guess (cause the rims fit on the rear. I had another chap 4 hrs away that wanted to sell me his 16 inchers too)
I did have good fortune on the way home though as I did find an indie whom had a nice set of new real-fake AMG 17" rims for under $800 installed with new studs, caps & taxes. Thanks to all whom looked at this thread and considered an answer - Steve
