ok i havent driven the s500 in about 3 weeks. I finally took it out yesterday after letting it warm up. I drove it around slowly through almost all of the gear to let the tranny go through the gears properly before WOT and driving hard.


my car is 4matic so here is what the problem is. When i full through the gas pedal i feel the surge of power coming but the car pulls for a second stops then picks back up. then when i floor it from a roll of about 20-30mph it does the same thing. After a few WOT pulls the car stays in D on the control panel and when i try to use tiptronic it wont downshift on the panel from 4-3-2-1 and on. Then after a minute or two of driving the feature works again. Something weird also is that the car say presafe inactive on the panel and ive never had this before. I did a TCU reset trick and still the same.... i disconnected the battery and let the car sit before i bring to mechanic this week.


Anyone have any ideas?? is there a sensor or something that coudl of gone bad?

FYI this didnt happen before i parked the car.


Also i forget to mention when i floored it when getting onto the highway the car was at about 40 when i had power but the tranny was in no gear... the rpms were just revving but no gears were engaged... then after i let off the pedal for a couple seconds it picked backed up and was fine??

 

bad accellerator pedal maybe? i had a similar issue a couple weeks ago (CEL was on) and would not accel.. swapping out the accelerator pedal fixed it.

 

try what chetoc said, I havent heard of your problem or experienced it myself

 

have the tranny fluid checked.

shift controller module problem? i dont know if thats the same as the accelerator or something else.
