Can't shut trunk!
So about 2 weeks ago (the weather had just gotten cold), I opened my trunk and could not shut it. I don't have the automatic door, just manually. I slammed it shut and it bounced right back at me. Clearly the latch wasn't engaging. I thought I was in for a very interesting drive home, when I pushed the button on the handle and heard a click and was then able to shut it....
Very weird, right? So, now when I open my trunk (either with the remote, the driver's door, or directly from the button on the trunk), I have to press the trunk button again in order to get the latch to allow me to shut it...
I am worried that this is a temporary fix and I will end up with a trunk full of groceries and no way to close it...
Anyone have any thoughts?
P.S. While under warranty, I had several issues with the trunk latch. Namely, the mechanism was replaced because the motor would run all night and drain my battery. That was less than a year ago, but now I am out of warranty.
