Cold Engine Start Up Noises

Every morning on start up in the garage, the engine makes a chirping, squeeky sound for a minute or so and then the noise goes away.

I have had it checked at MB Service, but of course they can't duplicat it since it only does it on a cold start. They even kept it overnight and claimed they heard nothing the next day.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this? All belts including Kompressor belt are 1 year old.

Thanks.

check for debris in the serpentine belt

i had this exact problem on a vehicle and it turned out to be sand that had blown into the engine compartment and then got pushed into the grooves of the belt.every time the belt passed over the alternator pulley on initial start of the day it would slip or chirp until the alternator caught up with the drain of starting the engine and then it went away.i removed the belt and found the sand /small pebbles.it is worth checking

I'd take a look at the belt, the idler pulley, and the tensioner/tensioner pulley
