2000 E500 starting problem

Hi, I have a starting problem in my s500. I have all the battery power, but when trying to start my car nothing happens. I tried another battery and still the same problem. Headlights work great and dash lights also, but it does nothing when trying to start it. Someone told me it could be the key, so I went out and replaced the key at the dealer and same issue. Any relays or do you think it's a starter issue? Thanks in advance for any replies.

A Mercedes obviously!
Sounds like starter motor issue. I think it is a relatively common problem on the earlier W220s.

its not the starter motor. i just fixed same problem in my cuzins 2000 s500. costs $40 at dealer

its a Fuse relay. If you open the hood its the Fuse box to the Left side.

Open the fuse Box and you will see a bunch of relays that are black and shaped Like small boxes. You want to replace the 2nd Relay from the top of the Fuse box. If you look in the Fuse diagram were the spare tire is youll find the fuse chart if yours is still there. Youll see it says fuse L or K i forget. But its the 2nd relay from the top of the fuse box.

good luck and report back

How will I know if the relay is bad? Is this a part I could have tested? How did you know to replace it? Is it like a regular fuse?
