v60 swap?
Does anyone know what would be entailed in changing from a Timeport phone already installed to a new v.60. Is it simply a matter of swapping the handsets? Or does it require a different install kit too? Thanks.

2001 MB CLK55
Requires a new installation kit - and depending on the vintage of your setup, my require a new "brain" as well (PSE's installed after - I think - August 2001 are V.60c friendly). Mine wasn't, so I had to pay for the whole shebang - phone, cradle, cable, PSE, and labor. Total ticket was right around $1200. Mine is in a CLK55, which takes the "long cable" - about a $100 adder over cars that take the "short cable" if I remember right. I don't know which cable the S class needs.
Here's how it looks installed:

do you know how to tell what you have installed in your car? i just purchased a 2001 CLK 320 with the phone kit installed and now i'm wondering if i can even use it. i'm pretty sure the car originally had the Timeport in it, but i don't know if i need the WHOLE upgrade, or maybe just some pieces.
