How do you like the Navigation system?

Hi guys!

I am planning to get a C320 w/Navi system but wondering is it worth the money, (I assume the NAVI is same as S class right)First becasue i just found out that it is using CD-rom instead of DVD rom. I have tested drive the ACURA CL w/NAVI which is DVD-ROM BASED (Touch screen and point of interest and many more etc) and it is very very nice system. I don't know how good is the C class NAVI compare to ACURA Navi system?

Any comments would be very appreciate!

Better off not getting the OEM unit

I would not get the Mercedes Navi system. It is the worst system. I have an S500 with the OEM navi and a Volvo with the Alpine. I would choose the Alpine over the OEM any day. It has so many features like points of interest which is extremely useful. I am praying that one day Mercedes will have an upgraded CD with all the features found on similiar systems like the Alpine. For now, though, their list of points of interest is pretty pathetic. You cannot really use it at all because it has hardly any thing besides restaurants and even then, it has to be a pretty non-in-the-hole type of the place. Get the Alpine is my conclusion or until Mercedes comes out with a better one.

MB NAV system is the worst of the luxury cars. This after I thought BMW was worst. MB system is CD based, slow, clunky interface, and shows almost zero street level detail, making it impossible to look at it and understand where you are in relation to cross streets or visually to plot an alternative route. It just wants to tell you what to do. Best I've seen is Lexus. Touch-screen, DVD (no disk swapping), lots of street detail. I've not seen Acura but it is supposed to be equal or better to Lexus. MB should be embarrassed by this system as it is not up the technology in the rest of the car.
