Car wont go over 10 MPH

Guys I need help. I have a 2000 S500. Last night I changed my front wheel bearings. no big deal, have done that before on other vehicles including my older MB's (W123, W126, and W140). This morning the car would not go over 10 MPH and I had a strange light on my dash that I have not seen before. Could this be "Limp Home Mode" If so, how do I reset it. Everything was running fine before. I just had a slight pull in the steering, and the alignment shop told me that I needed new wheel bearings before they could do an accurate alignment.

try unpluging the battery for around 30 min. then hook it back up. it should "reset" the computer.

I did it with my CLK, with a similar problem. worked out fine for me.

Does it get out first gear or are you stuck in first and not shifting up, what about manually shifting up?

Determined that it is the ESP light that is coming on. When I turn off the ESP function I can drive normally but the speedometer does not work and the ESP light flashes continually.
