Steering feels heavier, what could it be?
I have a 2001 S55. The steering does not feel as light as it used to the last few days. Recently I did hit a bad pothole and got a tear in my rim, could this be causing the heavier steering? I also recently did a reset of the TCU, holding the pedal down with the key in, could this also have affected it?
I'm not sure what it could be, but it definitely does not feel as light as before!

Power steering fluid is fine, could be possibly that I'm just thinking its heavier, or hitting the pot hole bent the tie rod or something that can make the steering tighter.

It could be. Also, lower tire pressure in the front tires makes a larger contact patch with the ground, may make steering a bit heavier. May want to check them.

OK, I checked my PSI - I usually check it at least once every 3 weeks, but the winter was bad here recently and I hit a few potholes, so that could have contributed to what I found:
The left front wheel was at 21 PSI, I usually keep the front at 29, and the back at 33 or so. Something made that tire lose air, and after I put it back up to 29PSI, the steering wheel definitely improved and became lighter again. I think that was affecting it a lot.
Funny how that's the only tire that lost air! I will keep a close eye on it.
