Contradicting info on Vossen's VVS-085

I am considering finally getting the 20" Vossen VVS-085 as seen below for my 2003 S430 Sport in staggered formation 9 in the front and 10.5 in the back. I've talked with several vendors (local and online) and I'm getting mixed responses on the ability for the 10.5 rims to fit in the back.

The planned tires are 245x35 in the front and 275x30 (or 285x30) in the back. I was told by one of the vendors that in the back going with a 285 would make the tire look better on the rim but would require fender bending. Another vendor said both would fit without any modifications. The last vendor (local one) said neither would fit without major modifications and that I was better off going with a 10 size rim. (this would be an altogether inconvenient truth if this was the case since it took me this long just to finally decide on a wheel). However if it won't fit then it won't fit.

Do any of you know if these will actually fit on this vehicle?

Thanks in advance!

its not just the rim width...offsets play a big part in how the wheel sits in the wheelwell.

Vossen has a rep with contact info here
https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ece-wheel.html

Unfortunately the only way to guarantee fitment is by test fitting when you are talking about these extreme fitments. Some wheels work, some require trimming or rolling fenders, and the only way to know for sure its a test fit. If Vossen hasnt done a test fit on this setup, all the wheel guys are just making guesses.

make sure whoever you buy the wheels from allows testfitting and returns, or find a local wheelshop who will do this...it may be worth the extra cost.

They will fit perfect in the rear with a 285-30-20.

You will need a 20x10.5 +42. (we have them in stock)

Thanks for the replies! Jav - that would be good news! I am curious though - does having that type of offset affect the car in a negative way?

I found/read this:

To maintain handling characteristics and avoid undue loads on bushings and ball joints, the car manufacturer's original offset should be maintained when choosing new wheels unless there are overriding clearance issues.

What is the original offset of this car and would a +42 really be that bad for it if it's not the original offset?

Thanks again!

Thanks! I pulled the trigger on them yesterday and I'll post pics next week after they are installed. My car is dark gray or "Designo Graphite" for the marketing nerds.
