HELP! Command system driving me crazy!
I recently bought a 2000 S class with the command unit. Every time I put the key into the ignition the tape deck opens, and then closes and then opens... and then closes over and over again. I figured putting a tape in there would solve the problem but it only spits the tape up and says "tape error". Everything else on the unit works, just the the tape deck opening whenever it feels like it is driving me crazy!!! Is there a hard reset for the unit??

The best way to actually (Hard Reset) will be to disconnect the possitive from your main battery. Wait between 15-20 Minutes and that should fix most electrical gltiches.

If you have tried battery disconnect and all to no avail, you might have some debris or a piece of tape stuck in the tape player. Once it ejects try to look inside with a flash light to see if you can find anything in there.
