another airmatic issue
I have a 2000 S500. I have had it for 5 years now. it has 180K miles. before I bought it, the prvious owner said that the airmatic had failed that that it was fixed and i believe this was done in 2004. almost exactly 1 year ago, my left(driver's side) airmatic got real low and I replaced it with one bought from arnott.
about 3 weeks ago, while parked in the driveway overnight, i notice that my drivers side has dropped real low. when i start it, i hear the compressor pumping and it stops when it raises to normal levels. when i drive it, it raises and drives normally. when i park it overnight again, it gets real low again.
I call arnott and the send me a replacement under their lifetime warrantee. i replace the driver's side but it is still getting low.
By driveway is slightly uneven and drops down a couple of degrees on the drivers side of the car.
my question would be, can the right side air strut be the problem? Or can it be another issue? The car seems to drive and raise ok but when it is parked, it gets real low. I havent driven the car in over a week so as to not get stuck somewhere.
TIA

simple test is to park backwards in your driveway.
we have seen many reports of cars dropping on unlevel surfaces that dont have leaks
also if the parking backwards test doesnt work, spray the strut tower tops with soapy water when its pumping up to see if it bubbles

Tus,
thanks, I turned it around and, sure enough, the right side just dropped down. It now looks very croocked. I guess the self leveling on these cars made me believe it was again the driver's side.
