clicking sound/noise coming from s430 while off

clicking sound/noise coming from s430 while off
i'm posting this for a friend... the car has been garaged for about a month... and today when walking into the garage there was a constant clicking noise coming from the car... it seems to be coming from under the hood on the drivers side, near the fuse box...
the key wouldn't work to even unlock the car, i thought it was a dead battery... i checked and the voltage was pretty low, below 5... i thought if i unhooked the battery, the clicking would stop, but that didn't stop it. i'm reconditioning the battery as we speak, but i'm still not sure what will happen after i hook it back up...
i opened the door using the key, and also had to open the trunk using the key.... i wasn't able to start the car nor did anything turn on in side when the key was inserted...
any ideas would be much appreciated.

2000 S430, 1999 E 320, 2 K5 blazers,
its the alam, i had the same problem. when the battery is low/dead the alarm back up battery gets drained and starts to go off and sounds like a clicking sound/churp
Charge the battery and the problem will go away
