I had my brake pads replaced at the local meneike and the mechanic inspected the underside and pointed out that I had two torn CV Boots at each side of the front axle. Is this an extensive expensive repair? Thanks in advance.

As "tusabes" indicated above, you should not have CV boots on the front axle, unless a 4matic.
