Crash!
Young lady ran a stop sign, slid diagonal through the intersection at approx 60mph and hit my 2004 S500 almost head on! I'll add pictures. Both cars are silver, her Acura is the totally smashed one! Mine needs approx 14K to repair.
glad you're ok.
looks like the 220 took the impact well. No passenger intrusion, windows intact, doors probably opened fine.
Although I'm not sure I would want the car back, good luck with the repairs.

not sure i want it either, fix and trade...
soft close on pass side still works, hood opens and closes and locks.
that picture has a wide angle lens, so it looks more bowed than it actually is. she left in an ambulance with a broken arm, cuts, bruises, etc.
no contest in terms of crash safety! amazing crash machine!

Glad your safe.
This is why I love our cars and hate those other idiots bragging their American cars are better because its faster. When they lose their legs in their plastic cars they'll wish they had an S-Class.

Glad you are OK too. I am with you, I hope your insurance company determines not to fix it. Most cars are never the same after this kind of damage. Please keep us posted.
American cars (at least traditional rear drivers) sure arent plastic, and most boast 5 star crash ratings

I am not sure what he means either.
Have you ever seen a Formula One car smash into a cement barrier at 185 MPH? Several hundred pieces of carbon fiber fly off, wheels come off, car flips around several times and the driver walks away unhurt or with a couple of scratches.
The conventional American thinking of bigger/heavier is safer, has not been proven true for two decades now.

In terms of road cars I'd certainly rather be in a W220 than an econobox.
All new road cars are also designed with crumple zones in the front and rear, not designed to disintegrate in a crash but they crumple or fold to reduce the amount of impact to driver and passengers.
