Hey Treynor what's up!
I remember seeing your posts on the Corvette Forum. I sold my
C5 (building a huge house) So I bought an S500 only 300 horse but it will do just fine. Anyway that S600 you have is bad to the bone. That would be cool if that was your real plate.

ML 320 CDI
an 150 HP add just with ECU reprogramming!
Even AMG have to rise the engine displacement to 6.0 L to obtain 612 HP. Warning my friend, your S 600 turbos must suffer from such a boost improvement.

No filter swap involved. The ECU swap took <10 minutes each direction. I suppose the ECU reprogramming -could- void your warranty if it was directly traceable to a failure in the driveline, but RENNtech isn't know for breaking cars...
I'm taking it back to the dyno tomorrow morning to see how much oomph it's actually picked up.

Actually, it means that the driveline absorbs a fixed percentage of the engine's power. In the case of the S600, that percentage turns out to be 21%. Thus, engine HP * (1 - .21) = wheel HP. Rearranging, engine HP = wheel hp / .79

According to your posts, prior to the ECU the car had 481.5hp at the wheels. Again, per your last post here, that is after the loss of 21% in the drivetrain. So that would bring your engine horsepower at roughly 610hp. MB rates that engine at 493hp. Yours seems to have gotten 117 extra ones somehow. Is that generally the case with all the '03 V12s? That is roughly the same power that MB claims for the new V12 AMG. What do you make of it?
Also, have you measured any 0-60 acceleration in your car? Was your car - prior to the ECU - any faster than the factory-claimed 0-60mph of 4.6 seconds? Tenths of the seconds do not necessarily mean much, but I am very curious to know the full potential (and it is quite a potential according to your videos) of the car. I am considering an SL600 sometime this year.

The 600 V12 does indeed seem to be quite underrated by MB. Most stock cars RENNtech have dyno'd make between 440 and 480 RWHP (actual) bone stock, which is 550 - 600 BHP. I would expect the CL65 to be somewhat similarly underrated.
I recorded a 0-60 of 3.9 seconds at Sacramento dragstrip bone stock. However, I also recorded 4.5 on the street; a prepped dragstrip has much more traction than normal asphalt. The S600 clearly has the power to run 0-60 in the high 3's, but lacks the traction to do so.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with the car. It's comfortable, quiet, luxorious, roomy... and very, very fast.
