S classs 'key' - can it be reprogrammed?
Hi, I got a '01 s500S with only 1 'key'. The dealer (out of state) found the 'other key' and sent it to me but it is not for my car. They most likely found a key laying around and sent it to me - the mech. key does not work either.
Q: Can the electronic portion of the key be reprogrammed? by the dealer that is..... i don't want to pay $175 for a whole new key.... wander if they can use this key and my vin# to reprogram the key so i can use it on my car?
any key related comments/help would be appreciated....

If the key they sent was already programmed then it can not be re porgrammed by the dealer. Do a search on this as there has been several discussions in the past on such.
