I have a 2000 S500 with 78K miles on it. The other day, my exterior mirrors stopped working and the power window switches on the driver's side door seems to work only now and then. My mechanic removed the code and it worked for about 12 hours, now it's the same story again.

My mechanic is now saying that I need a new door control module and that it is $538 at the dealers. He also says that I can't buy a used one because they can not be re-programmed.

Does anybody else have experience from this problem. Would appreciate some insight before I fork over $500 to the dealer (especially since I just had to replace the front shocks).
