01 S500 Front Brake Pads

I just replaced the front brake pads on my 2001 S500

The dash indication "brake lining wear" will not go away. Any special tricks to get this to shut off without taking it to the dealer?

Thanks.

You need to replace the sensor. The dealership should have that part.

sensor replacement after brake job

hi, can the sensors be replaced by 'midas brake' or smaller shops, as long as i buy it and bring it in? i mean, it's a no brainer hopefully...?

or, just have the dealers do the whole thing.... do they routinely recommend doing the rotos on each pad change?

01 s500, 30K, on orig. pads still, they squeak a bit in the morning, reversing out of the garage....

The sensor is literally plug and play. You just need to know the part number. Hell, you could probably replace it yourself.

Is your brake pad light on?
If not, you should be able to do a DIY brake pad replacement with no issues.

If it is on, you'll need a sensor which is pretty easy to install, plug and play.
