lorinser wood wheel

i have replaced my wheel with a Lorinser wheel.... perfect leather match and wood match as MB, on my 01 s500....
the lorinser wood wheel is much better than the MB wheel....it costs $1000. vs. 750. MB but the grip is thicker and has the ergonomic notches ... the dealer/walter's charged 0.3hr for labor - it's not worth your time to install it yourself.... if you are interested, i will send you a pic. of the wheel in my car....

IMHO the wood steering wheel gives you the yacht look - too overboard - they should throw in a white captain's cap with each one sold..:o

ps: taurian - pls. take the dj pic off your signature- this forum is beginning to look alot like teen beat

LOL, Sport. I installed a wood shifter knob, and I think that's enough with the light grey interior.
Plus, yesterday I checked out a Burlwood wheel in a pro football player's extremely bright lime green S500 that had been sitting out in the hot Florida sun for a bit, and I about burned my damn hand off grabbing that wheel!
I never thought about the fact that that dark wood absorbs so much heat. Not recommended if you live in hot, sunny climes.

SPORT -

I'll replace the picture in 2 weeks when my 2003 S500 comes off the boat (with wood package) and I can take photos.

In the meantime, I apologize if you feel the forum looks like teen beat (and how do you know what that looks like anyway?)

Taurian, that S500 will be there before you know it. What colors, options did you get?

I almost bought a S55 in Pewter, so I wanted to go for that color, but my wife convinced me to go Black on Charcoal (wanted brown leather interior, but the Java seemed to yellow). I put in S3 (multi contour seats), S5 (wood package), Parktronic (for the valet parkers and NYC garages) and the V.60 phone (I'm a mortgage broker, and ALWAYS on the phone).

I was told last week it's on the boat, so I'm starting to get very excited.
