SF Bay Area Mechanic ..
I live in Piedmont, work in SF .. have to have work done on CATS and front end suspension .. other stuff too but those are right now .. need a good mechanic and figured I'd check here for recomendations.
My last mechanic was affordable, but went back 4 times for front suspension issues and never really resolved. Definitely want affordable, but need good .. so not going back to them.
Input appreciated, I personally feel I've gotten more solid and useful informatoin on this forum than anywhere else on my car.

for cheap cats, not original MB, see Lisa at golden auto in daly city. She can get MB parts too if you want them but they are $$$. She does my brakes and exhaust. I had her get me MB parts on brakes for $480 pads and rotors installed total'

Have you tried XYZ Motors in Oakland? they're across street from MB Oakland, and Xiao is a real car enthusiast and will take time to do it correctly. The other suggestion is Apex Motorwerks and Dave Ball...he's a one-man shop w/ LOTS of experience including previously managing 80 techs at MB Beverly Hills. However, he's located in Novato so not as convenient. The good news is Enterprise next door is $25/day for rentals, and his rates are less/SMARTER use of money than dealers.
