new member/today SRS light
I know there was a thread out there on this SRS issue (2003 s500) that's why I joined but, don't know how to used this thing yet. I'm old school I guess.
But, I saw that a lot of people have had that issue. I've had the clock springs replaced and had everything check by lic shops. My Mercedes dealer checked three different times themselves and no one can fix this thing. Shouldn't this be a recall issue.

Welcome to the forum.
Try cleaning the connectors in the SRS plug under the passenger seat. A dirty connector has often been known to cause an SRS warning light. You can use Radio Shack contact cleaner if you wish.

Hi Skylaw thank you for the reply... I'm originally from Florida also but currently live in Minnesota. I have a code showing a 9103, airbag ignition squib resistance too high which led to replacing the clock spring. I had every connector cleaned by the Dealer on my last visit. SRS light came back on and is still on.

Skylaw.... u still there? In line with your suggestion I rechecked the work order I had from the dealer. They did check it as I recalled but they did say they found mositure on some of the connectors. Cleaned reconnected and cleared the warning light. But the SRS light is on.

Well, that's the thing... The clearing of the SRS light only lasted about a day. Which led me to think that didn't trigger it. The focus however, has been mainly on the driver seats (per code). I will re-check the Pass-seat! I also just found out that the sun roof may have been repaired or replaced. I noticed a small spot of rust (size of a dime) comming through on the front roof top passenger side just in front of the of the glass sun roof top about an half inch from the right corner. I wonder if there is a connection?
