Replaced Airmatic Relay Car feels better?

First, there was nothing wrong with my Airmatic system. I wasa simply being proactive changing out the relay. My car does not leak air and the airmatic struts have had the upper strut seal fix awhile back.

How can this be? After I replaced the relay with a new Hella unit my car does feel stiffer as I drive. Not as "floaty". I guess is a good description.
After I removed the old relay I was checking it out and found one of the prongs seems a little loose inside the housing and I could hear movement inside the relay by slightly wiggling the prong.

Is this a placebo effect or what?

I find it wierd that this relay would change the feel of the car. But it definitely did. The air pump is definitely quieter as well.

What do you guys think about this?

Thumbs up Relay

I'm afraid there is no relation, unless the relay was shorting out or randomly working then not working, but you would have had more severe symptoms like sagging corners maybe. Glad it "feels" better regardless. These are amazing machines.....

I don't understand how people hear their airmatic compressor. In my 2.5 years with the car, I've never heard this thing

I changed my relay this week too. Noticed a big difference. My compressor works less too. Prior to the relay change the compressor would work about 20 to 40 sec at first start in the morning. Past few days I have not notice it. Car sits better, corners better and takes bumps better.

Ever since I got the new one it shakes the whole car! I hear it and feel it in the pedal. Maybe the rubber tabs are messed up that suspend it. The old one never made a squeak.
