Parts cost in Germany

Are parts, such as leather and wood steering wheels, much cheaper in Germany? I have a buddy going over there this summer that could snag some parts if it makes sense.
Thanks

I think that MB parts and cars are based on the US economy. If you look at how much it costs to buy a MB from another country with a cheaper currency, you will see that cost is nearly equivalent to the cost in US dollars. Also, who would do the installation? I am assuming that you are referring to the wood/leather steering wheel and shifter. I don't think that a MB dealer will accept parts from the customer. I would think that they would make up some excuse as to why they cannot use your parts. But I could be wrong...

My dealer will install a genuine MB wheel for me. I see prices of $350-400 on the web, but not sure if they are good.

$350 looks like a good price. Where did you find it? You can buy parts in Germany much cheaper, however if you have no friends there, then it can be difficult to find right price.

They are on e bay. I have decided against one though, as I live in FL, and after sitting in the sun for any period of time, the Burlwood wheel gets hot as blazes! The stock grey leather one doesn't. That finalized my decision for me.
Now I need to find some illuminated door sills at a good price.
