Then I'm going to Willow Springs raceway this Saturday so that Car & Driver can test & photograph the car Expect a writeup in C&D later this year.

The E 50K recently ran a 13.5@111 5500 feet above sealevel. we seem to have a .8-1 second disadvantage at this altitude as compared with sea level. The CLK 43K ran consistent 14.2@101, and a G 55K ran a 14.8@9X. If anyone in Colorado wants to join us at Bandamire, just let us know when, and we'll be there!

Treynor,
When Mercedes rates its vehicules, what is it rating exactly? Why do its figures differ so dramatically from yours? Also, as mentioned above, the Kleemann upgrade gives 620 HP and 700 TQ. Again, what HP is rated there?

Mercedes is notorious for under rating HP and torque, why???
With the new S I imagine it's all marketing to not detract from the 55 AMG version since putting the Maybach engine in the 600 was really overkill.
AMG is coming out with a 6.5 lire V12 S in a couple years.

*cough*
525 RWHP SAE == 664 BHP @ 21% driveline loss (the measured value on an S600). Also, remember that euro horsepower is typically measured as DIN, which is slightly higher than the US standard SAE.
I'd say both cars are close enough to make the difference academic.
Have you had your Kleeman car to the track?

It's not so popular here in Europe to go on drag strip, maybe once a year there will be some kind of event, we mostly care of the high speed autobahn driving.
But today there actually was an event, where we had 4 KLEEMANN cars on the strip, E 50 K, E 55 K, ML 55 K and S 60 K, it started raining and suddenly we had to wear helmets which we weren't prepaired for, so we couldn't drive for real, only make a little show for the 20.000 people there.
But from the looks, the S 600 really kick @ss
