Installation of Sat radio antenna in 2000 S500 (W220)
I am planning on installation of Sirius in my 2000 S500. I was wondering if anyone has a routing plan for installation of the external satellite radio antenna?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You are right. This is an external, add on radio. Sirius Status 6 model. I ended up putting the tuner on a bracket extending to the passenger side of the COMAND unit.
As for antenna wiring, i placed the antenna 3 inches in front of the cell antenna roof and followed the fiber cables from trunk to rear and then along driver's side into the front of cabin.
Interfaces to radio through FM Direct Connect accessory from Sirius, which simply switches from car antenna to Sirius antenna when the Sirius radio power is on. Sound quality is very good, and certainly beats FM over the air modulator.
