Yes, Mercedes will swap out the current 5-speed transmission with its new 7G-TRONIC later this year in 2003. It's only available on the E500, S430, S500, and SL500 though. I wonder why they're not doing this on the V12's. Anyway, I wish the dealers would tell us exactly what's to come in upcoming models so we could make clearer decisions when purchasing. Taurian, if you can wait about 6 more months you can have a quicker, more economical S500...
