Deals on S430?

Deals on S430?
I saw a friend of mine while I was shopping for my E320. To make a long story short,he calledme last night and wanted to know if I thought he was getting his "chain jerked" so to say.
He is looking at base S430 with a MSRP of "around" $74,000 and a "selling price" of around $71,000.
On a 39 month / 12k ayear lease, he was givena quote of around $1,200 a month, that's including 9% PA tax.
Does anyone know if this is a good "Deal" or not? I'm sure if he wanted to spend more time he could get a better one, but I get the impression that they aren't dealing that much with the S classes.
BTW, he also got a quote on a jaguar XJ seris sedan with again a $1,200 a month , same terms.
Any ideas?

i would think your friend could do better than that.
he should be able to get at least 4000 of sticker.
i say this because my dealer offered me 4% off of the MB sticker( plus my $1000.MB coupon) on a brand new CL55.
keep this into consideration also...the 04's are just around the corner.

I just paid $1,500 over Dealer Invoice for an S500. Then, I gave them the $1,000 coupon for the bank fee. $1,399 per month, zero down, NY tax in the payment.
