Transmission Not Changing Gears, Central Lock/Trunk/Door Soft Touch Don't Work

I'm having quite a few problems with my 2000 S500 and was wondering if you can help me.
First, the door and trunk soft touch and central lock system do not work. This problem occurred after I heard a hissing sound from right under my driver seat. I believe that was caused by my foot hitting the area as I entered the car. I've located Fuse 20 under the rear seat fuse box as forums have mentioned, but I am unable to pull the fuse out because there is a metal frame that is covering that top row of fuses. I have read that it has to do with the PSE pump.

Second, when I am driving, the RPM is very high and definitely not normal. Even when I accelerate and then let go, the RPM will stay at what it was at the peak of the acceleration and will barely go down unless I brake. The car jerks and vibrates. Perhaps it has to do with the W/S mode? Or Limp Mode? The check engine light is also on. Sometimes, the shifter is stuck in park when I start the car and I have to restart for it to shift again.

Third, the key sometimes gets stuck in the ignition in that it is unable to move to the start position. I have to play with it for it to work.

Writing frankly dude, your car has a lot problems. The first one, by your description is, no doubt, a broken vacuum line or fitting. This is creating a huge leak in the vacuum circuit. Your PSE Pump cannot overcome the leak. The Fuse 20 fix will not help this particular problem. If there is a fitting of any sort over fuse(s), that has to be resolved. Someone built or installed something over the fuse box?

As for the engine RPM issue, it's probably unrelated to the vacuum problem. But this is a serious issue and requires professional diagnostic work. You probably won't get that 'fixed' here. Personally, I wouldn't drive the car until this is repaired - it's clearly a safety issue and needs time in a shop.

The key and ignition difficulty may be a weak key battery. Try changing that first. This, however, is the least of your problems.

Cheers,
Jeff

1. I dont know the answer to your question or have any advice
2. Your car is in limp mode because of engine related problems I believe. Check engine light on? I had my solenoid replaced under code P0778. Run a quick OB2 scanner or have a professional do it, after the fix, my car was able to shift again
3. Check your battery in your key and in your trunk. I had this problem when my alternator went out, bad car battery, but never with a key battery.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your help so far.

So for the Fuse 20 Fix, I was never able to do that procedure as there was a metal fixture surrounding the fuse box that is in the way of the top row fuses (rear seat fuse box). The central lock system, trunk, and door soft touch features stopped working when I heard a hissing sound, which I guess would be the leak, from under the driver's seat.

The check engine light is on. I ended up dropping the car off to the mechanic. He had the car's computer checked and cleaned, as it was somewhat corroded. However, that did not fix the problem. He said it could be the traction control module (aka engine tranny computer according to part number searches?). I've seen it for around $300-$400 online.
