PRE-SAFE experiences in S Class?
i'm curious to hear from folks whether they've experienced the "pre-safe" system in their S class. does it work? was it helpful?

i searched the W220 archives but didn't see much.

it's a really intriguing system - IF it actually works.

Should be pretty easy to try out open the sunroof adjust the seat in a wierd position and slam on the brakes

you also need a guardrail that youre gonna about to hit, turn really sharp away at the last second.

Is that a normal feature? I never heard of it before? Or is it something that comes with Distronic?

comes with most 2003 as it was introduced in 2002 for the 03 year, i think most models come with it, unsure about the c-class

I was refering to the guardrail. I know (or thought I did) know all the features of the Pre-safe system. I never knew radar detection was part of it.

radar detection isn't part of it, but trust me when ur about to slam ur 2003 s-class into a guard rail at the last second and you make crazy save-your-baby maneuvers, it'll sense that

Heh thats a given but why purposely aim at a guard rail? Simply faking the manuver would be good enough.

you need the guard rail for realism, if it was a pooh bear, you would probably laugh and run over it, and be unable to test the presafe out
