Just wanted to say hello

Hey there, I just purchased a 2000 S500. It was to good of a deal to pass up, so i bought it as a commuter instead of my duramax truck. The car is silver with black int. has 134k miles and has not been run in over a year. I have been lurking and searching on here for the past few weeks getting it in good (well better) shape.
So far... new battery day one. new pass. door control module. front strut mastic fix. remove and wet-sand and polish the headlights. clean, and clean again the car, and so far I think thats about it.

Here was the biggest deal so far. when i picked it up the inside blower fan would not work. so i found in the paper work where the original owners recieved a recall for a wiring harness issue for the blower motor and never had it done. so i looked under the hood at it and it was literally melted in half. so i took it to a dealer and they performed the recall and all works great there now.

It has a really awesome phone installed in the center console too!

The car rides and drives wonderfully right now. I am now just waiting on the oil filter to get here by mail so i can get the oil changed now. mobil 0w-40 wasnt cheap either!!

Well Thats about it for now. See you around!

Welcome to the forum. Much good info here and naturally, a lot of opinion. But we're good folk who have a passion for the Mercedes brand. One word of advice - Be frugal but not cheap. These cars can require a lot of work and consequently money. Seek bargains but do not compromise what needs to be done. Above all, have fun here!
Cheers,
Jeff

Thank you everyone. I build and restore classic boats, so I am a DIY type of guy. Which is why this car that needed some love appealed to me. Thanks again and see you around.
