Marker light front left
Ok I keep getting 2 malfunctions on the dash marker light FL and side marker left. Bulb still lit even with malfunction although light blinks 6-7 times slowly before staying lit. Got a new bulb inserted same results slow blinking then ok but still got malfunctions message. Anyone with this problem or know what to do to fix it. Thanks.

u are using oem bulbs right?
those led ones are something else.. its like a trojan virus in a bulb to the canbus system.
idiot technology sometimes, i hate it.

Had the same with the left side marker. Use the new socket or just scratch of the corrosion from the old. Check if the cover has a crack, make sure the water cannot can get inside.

It seems to me that a failure of one section of the indicator circuit may cause the fail message.
there is a video on youtube on how to replace them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYWyrXwLRIc
Fairly easy and fixed my problem.

Ok thanks for the help I will try the new socket and try another new bulb. Dali regarding the mirror indicators did you replace them even though the turn signal was lighting up as normal?

hiya dweb4, well mine was a process of elimination, all bulbs worked before and after a trip to the auto store bulb shelf. If you were to have the same problem, look closely at the LED's in the mirror signal lamps. If you see a fail then that could be it. My left side mirror indicator had a blank and for around 30 dollars it fixed my annoying dash message and they look better too. Cheers.

BTW, I also has the annyoing error message abou the malfunctioning left turnsignal, even though the light itself was blinking and at the correct pace like the other side. Then I noticed that the left mirror did not signal.
When I removed the mirror housing I saw that the harness was broken and sliding it back in place there would be no connection.
I checked signal light by a connecting wire, it worked fine. So I simply made a permanent new wire connectionlong enough to let the housing move easily. Housing went back in place and the error message never showed up again.
All in all, the dash message can be misleadingm a little lesson good to keep in mind.

I just got through wrestling with the problem of the front left standing light and side marker error msgs on my '06 S55. Both bulbs were burnt out. I first only changed the side marker, but the error msg was still there and although the bulb was working, it would blink 6 times before staying lit.
Having tried everything else on this thread, I decided to also change the standing light bulb. As soon as I did that, both error msgs went away and all is well! So it appears that the standing light and side marker share the same circuit. So in the end, make sure both are working, don't have one not working. They both use the same 12V 5W bulb. OEM and OEM equivalent bulbs both work fine.

I just left my hazards on for a while and it went away. It will probably be back, but it's good for now.
