Hi Ericktu, I admired your car at the evo show last Sunday. The grille appeared to have the hood opener handle extending from the topmost rib. Does the hood opener work correctly? I have heard that's a problem with some of the sport grilles -- you have to cut a hole in them for the handle to extend through.

Powder coating isn't possible because the grill is plastic. Unless what you're powdercoating is aluminum the curing process will melt the object. If you want the black look, there are two ways to go about it. One way is to take it apart and paint the chrome part black. This looks nice once it's sanded and buffed, but it's very susceptible to rock chips. I'm currently having my grill black chrome plated by a shop in orange county that can chrome anything in any color. Really nice people and when I get my grill back this week, I'll post pics so you guys can see if it's something you'd like to do. :0)

I'm not sure how long you've had it and stuff, but when you wash it and clean it do you use a towel or q-tip to get in between all the .. umm.. I'm not sure what to call it.

I use q-tips on a stock 2002 S500 grill of my aunt's.
