Talking Happy with Airmatic problems!

I just had to share this. Got an '03 S430 4matic last week, found it at a BMW dealer and knew it was "the one" when I saw it. One owner with only 41k miles, immaculate inside, outside and not even surface rust underneath. While looking it over I found a repair receipt for a right front strut and thought- great news, one less to worry about. Started the car to find the Airmatic- visit workshop message on. The BMW dealer sent it to an indy Mercedes shop for a new left front strut. I visited the indy shop while it was there to find that the shop has known the car since new and described the previous owner ( yes a little old lady) as meticulous with her maintenance, so happy. Took delivery from the BMW dealer and while driving home... yes the Airmatic- visit workshop message appeared again and the next day the SRS message lit. So back to the BMW dealer who felt the Mercedes dealer would best handle the SRS issue and check the Airmatic as well. Just got a call from the service manager at the BMW lot to tell me the SRS is fixed ( faulty seat sensor) and that the right rear strut AND compressor need replacing all of which will be paid for by the BMW lot. So happy. Kudos to the BMW lot for doing the right thing without any question.

Thanks for the welcome and for all of the invaluable info I used in helping me select my S Class. Flying leather sofa- perfect! My wife bought me a new shirt.

Welcome, I just joined this forum after buying a 2000 S500 and have spend hours already searching and researching and fixing my car (it needed some love. sat outside for over a year untouched) But I enjoy tinkering with cars and this site has been great so far! If only i could find a Nav CD for the south east!

Enjoy your new car!

You misspelled 'ABC'.

Tusabes- don't need the strut, thanks. Slopoke- I see a Region 9 (southeast) nav disc on ebay for $48, better than average price. Got the car back today, fell in love all over again. Every drive feels like a special occasion!
