2001 s500

tire rotations on S500Sport, exhaust noise

Hi, have a 01 S500 S with staggered tire set up. . . .

what are you guys doing for rotation? if they are NOT unidirectional, can you rotate across the axle?

if they ARE unidiretional, do you rotate the tires on the same axle but keep 'em rotating in the same direction, right ?

Also, i've been noticing a metal hitting/exhaust hitting the body or something , with the car idling. . . . any comments? am i missing a rubber mounting strap or something?

Don't think you can rotate staggers and yours are most likely directional. Going across axel and remounting doesn't really work that well......I was told not to do it a long time ago and did it anyway and I tore a steel belt in the rear.

The mounting brackets have a habit of coming loose on exhaust just ask dealer to tighten up all way around and then have them listen for noise.
