Airmatic problem stiff ride, c1324 c1325, possible valve block???

hi guys,

i recently been getting an airmatic error message on my car and the ride seems very stiff, there is no air leaks and i can leave the car off for many days without it dropping.

i had the car scanned for airmatic codes and it gave me these two codes :

c1324 fault " " y53y1 ( left rear solenoid valve 1) in assembly Y53(damping unit)
c1325 fault y53y2 (left rear solenoid) in assembly y53 (damping valve)

i tried erasing them but they come right back, i am not sure what to check or what to replace, i tried searching the forums and the only information i found was to replace the valve block.

i was hoping i can get some of you guys opinion before i replace the airmatic valve body, also is the part that i need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BEN...f4b57b&vxp=mtr

frk.... you sure you dont have any leaks? if not then the valve block could be the problem...iv heard a few change them and said the difference is ride quality was phenomenal.

yeah i have had the car sit for more then 6 days straight without driving it and it was still at the same levels so im pretty sure there are no air leaks.

ill probebly get the vavle block changed this week and see what happenes.

from what i have read i think its just a simple replacement, plug and play kind of thing.

2006 S-430 4matic
I have a 2006, S-430 4 matic with 78,000 miles and replaced the right front strut in Jan. 2011 due to clunking sound over small bumps. Now, April 2012 and only 25,000 miles later I have the same clunking sound. In the meantime, two months ago I replaced the air valve assembly, sway bar link and right lower control arm. Mercedes dealer says strut must be defective as other parts seem secure. Is it possible that this strut needs to be replaced after only 14 months of highway driving. I am baffled that the dealer just thinks about replacing the strut. Also at a cost of $1700. Again. What's up????

i dont trust the dealer, half the times they have a bunch of idiots working who have no idea what they are doing, i once had a problem with the car not starting and the dealer had no idea how to fix it, they wanted to charge me over $1K to replace the ECU and they would not guarantee that would fix the problem, but thanks to this forum i found out that it was a CPS sensor and $60 later problem fixed.

anyway have not gotten to fix the car yet, it drives fine just a little stiff, im gona eventually replace the valve body and if that dosent work replace the rear shock. ill post updates on what happens when i get to it.

sorry for the late reply, i have been driving the car for a couple of years with the light on and its been driving fine (a little stiff ride but its ok)

i finally decided to replace the rear left shock, and that fixed the problem, no more airmatic light, i guess its the sensor inside the shock and it CANNOT be replaced speratly

Hi guys, I am owner of an E55AMG'05. My car has an airmatic problem. The diagnosis gives these fault codes (5132-left side airmatic sensor/5142-right side airmatic sensor/5152-rear airmatic sensor)
Airmatic kompressor works fine up and down.
The problem is that car's left side is 12mm down then right side or opposite! (right side is 12mm upper then left side)
While we connect the car to diagnosis,we made felt and right at same balance but whenever disconnect from diagnosis and try to up or down the airmatic, the problem occurs again.
I think a wire contact to chasis, also deaits of the fault code says the same.
If somebody had the same problem, then help me where to start?
Thanks. I am sorry about my english, hope you understand well.
Note: sensors are fine, sockets are fine.

Question Airmatic - "Visit Workshop!"

Hello everyone, great forum with lots of knowledge!
I have a 2003 S320CDi W220 which has the dreaded "Airmatic - visit workshop!" notice.
A non-Star diagnostic system indicated C1324 and C1325 errors, which apparently refer to the rear strut sensors.
Car does not drop overnight, but measuring from wheel centres to wheel arches on each wheel showed a strange discrepancy:- Front Left has ride height 7-10mm higher than Front Right... BUT Rear Left has ride height 3-7mm LOWER than Rear Right making the car appear to be twisted??
Ride is very hard since the warning light appeared.
Anyone any ideas??

Time for some serious work with DAS...

The ride height of each strut can be individually checked and adjusted.
