guys...cabin filters...change them

ok, so its been about 3 years since I changed the filters last. I figured that although thats probably longer than necessary, but I barely drive the thing.

Well imagine my surprise when like a good handful of grass clipppings, leaf particles, bugs, etc was chilling on the edge of the door. I was literally like The filters too were clogged pretty good too. Shame on me, they are so cheap i should do it once a year:

210 830 10 18

$32 at oediscountparts.com. Add an oil filter and a few bucks worth of other crap and you get free shipping.

scary to think that in a lowly econobox, you'd be breathing all that crap.

Not to hijack Oliverk's posting. I recently changed out my cabin filter with a combination dust/pollen filter. The filter that came out was a charcoal filter. What is the difference in using one or the other?
Thanks everyone!

In my car, I believe apply to all W220, there are separate Charcoal filters which are below the instument panel.
In the center console there is a button to choose whether to use it or not.

Thanks.

You'r right again Howard.

These take about 15 minutes to change out, and can be had on flebay for about $50 for the pair.

You do have to remove the plastic tray under the glove box, but it is NOT hard. Heck, mine even came with instructions

Sorry that I hijacked this thread, I only have the one cabin filter that sits on top of the auxiliary battery. I have a W211. I was just wondering the difference between the two. Since there was a charcoal filter in it, I may order another one.
Thanks,
Mike T.

Thanks,

you have a combination filter, and no separate charcoal filters. Its an entirely different part number and location.

the 220 separates the functions, yours combines them.
