96 and 08 911 turbos
Considering they aren't even remotely the same size or shape, I'd tend to doubt it.
And please, what is so "turd" like about the 220 cluster?
its 4 analog gauges and a decent looking screen.
The video speedo on the 221 looks "turd" like to me.

There is no way a w221 cluster will fit in a 220 cluster spot. There different shapes and size and if you did somehow end up doing it then it would cost far too much and be too much headache. Also the w221 cluster in a 220 would take away from the car and make it look like something it is not. Keep it as is I say.

Sorry I didn't mean it like that. I just meant dated. I don't have a W220, I bought one for a friend months ago and this question just popped into my head out of curiosity. Personally I love the W211s cluster the best it's a joy to look at everyday but the W221 is extremely impressive. The problem with the W220 cluster is like I said dated and it looks great at night with the white LED option but in the daytime you can see the gate for the needle and what not. It's not so much as the W220 having a bad cluster it's the W221 being so damn impressive.

First off, no.
Swapping gauge cluster from another w220 requires new programming I believe. Many essential functions go through the gauge cluster. I'm sure most people will tell you it is improbable. No, impossible.
You'd probably have to also swap the BCM, and then ECU, and then engine, and then cars body all to a w221 to get the cluster to work with all functions...

Thanks for clarifying that it's impossible and why
