Which battery to jump? Conflicting Owner's Guide
While pleasure reading through the Owner's Guide for MY 2003 S-Class, I believe I found a conflict in the section about how to jump start the vehicle when you have a dead battery.
First, there is a warning that says to only jump start the battery located in the front of the vehicle. There are no corresponding illustrations or instructions for the front-battery jump procedure.
Then, there is another 2 1/2 pages of detailed instructions and illustrations about how to charge the rear battery using jumper cables from another vehicle or a battery charger.
So, If my car won't start, which battery do I connect to in order to jump start the vehicle?
I've seen the other threads (actually in the SL-Class, but seems applicable) that say the front battery goes directly to the engine starter motor, and the rear battery is or more sensitive electronics and auxiliary features.
