It’s finally done!! And no, I did not die from a xenon gas explosion as someone stated. Much thanks to Ron, Ruel, Chris, and Steve for helping me configure the S-class 2003 lights to work on 2000-02 S class cars. Everything works accordingly to how the original was set up and that includes, low beam xenons, fogs, daytime running lights (using low beam xenons), turn signal indicator, and city lights as well as the new high beam xenons. The only thing that does not work is the auto-leveling feature which we left unplugged because the connector is different and as are the pins. Until we get a 2003 electrical schematic from Mercedes, we’re going to leave it at that. We’ve poked around enough to know when to stop before causing any serious damage to the electrical system. Even without the auto-leveling feature, the lights are manually adjustable and we actually didn’t need to adjust them once they were installed. They were pretty much at the correct height. There are no error codes whatsoever with the addition of these new lights. So down the road if we do manage to get a diagram we could possibly figure out how to bridge the connection for the leveling system. Then again it may not even be possible or to the point that it may require replacing a module which again may be too expensive. For right now, it’s left unplugged.

All the modification is done inside the housing and none on the side of the car so everything is pretty much plug and play which is very nice. We’re going to have either Performance Products and/or Bekkers carry the modified ‘03 lights for resell so give those guys a call especially Bekkers. The modification adds about $450 per side due to the parts that are needed as well as the labor to perform the modification that allow for simple plug and play. Below are some pictures so enjoy! hehe pretty nice headlights... same ones as i have only my whole car is 2003... hehehe you shouldve went pimp and just bought another sclass a 2003 one just for the headlights thats baller style haha i like ur kit....but u have classic sideskirts on side...go dtm all the way!! my car is 2003 notice the side mirrors the lights on those are different and taillights are different

as advice.... you shoud get lorinser impact strips and get rid of that yellow light on the side of your bumper like me it looks nicer with out yellow

I haven't gotten that far yet but have thought about it. I know on the 2003 there is an extra courtesy lamp that shoots down from the underneath the side mirror. I wonder if we can wire that too. Worse case is we complete the look with the 03 side mirrors.

no worse case is you sneak into a dealership at 2:00 AM and end up ripping off the signal mirrors from a 2003 s-class benz

yo, you also gotta take out your comand system and update that too with the 2003... also, dont you think the 2003 seats are nicer than the 2002's? Get those too!

yea! and don't foget the chrome door sills and the chrome strips across every wood piece! oh man it never stops! I think it'll be easier just to get an 03...

also you need a new windshield, there are 4 sensors now that track the sun instead of one, also, the cupholder.. I just bought one in Germany for like 25 bucks

also you'll have to rip off the parking brake handle thingie, it looks more "modern" on the 2003's.

Looks like you've done more than your share of adding 03 parts to your car - especially the chrome parts. Seems like you've gotten everything chrome like chrome license plate holder and chrome headlight rings so you're definitely prepared for an '04 look. Are you going to get chrome steering wheel too?
