Red face 2004 S600 w220

I have always wanted a Mercedes since I was a kid. I love the style and ride of the car. I might have went overboard, but I found a sweet S600 for sale. I was considering buying a w221 class s550, but just couldn't justify the cost. I just couldn't pass us the deal I got on the S600. I picked it up for $14k, it had 103k miles on it, has recenty had all the plugs replaced and a host of other maintenance items. I bought it in May of 2012, and right off the bat had to iron out some problems. No wonder I got it for such a good price, nonetheless I think I got a good deal. Only time will tell. So far; replaced radiator ($1500), water pump ($1500), auxillary water pump ($500), ABC line ($1,000) (pinched by a curb probably due to not belly pans), ignition module ($1,000). And now the car will not have to go out of park, so that is going to cost me too. hey, I figure I am driving a $130k+ car, and well, it is still quite a deal. I also likely have motor mounts to do. The car drives like a dream, when not it the garage, and I use it for a daily driver. So instead of driving a $45k S550, and selling for a 30k loss, later down the road, I decided to go the other direction, albeit it might be foolish. Wish me luck!

see the START HERE thread on top for the stuck in park issue.

theres a free fix online by removing the plastic piece, but then your shifter can always be moved out of park even when the car is off. Or you can replace the plastic piece with a metal one

we couldn't get the darn thing done, and all they could figure out is to replace the whole shifter what's done is done I guess.
