latest COMAND eludes me..

2006 Mercedes Benz S430
latest COMAND eludes me..
First time poster, hello all. I will be active on this board, as I will first make sure I know everything and anything before doing anything to my car, as I just spent $700 on a repair that should have cost $50, but realized too late.
I replaced a rear drivers side blinker light when it was about to go (dash told me and it blinked fast) and the new one worked fine for a year, but a few months ago the same message came up, and since I bought two at the time, I had another, and the second time I replaced it, it wouldn't work after replacement so I took it in, they told me they need to replace the WHOLE shebang, the whole unit with all the lights and everything, because apparently the connector for the blinker was worn out etc. etc., but I couldn't be bothered at the time to argue even though I knew I could have done it myself and just fixed the connector, but maybe not, although none of the other lights were affected, they all worked fine, which made me believe they are pulling my chain, successfully I might add)
If you have comments on the above, great, but it's not the reason of my post.
Anyhow, here is why I'm posting now:
I own the 2006 (last year of the model) S430 (W220). Regular wheel base, if there was a long wheel base at all, not sure. My car is 4Matic.
In any case, it came with the 2005 Navigation DVD at the time, and in 2009 I updated to the 2008 version (I believe the DVD was V8.0), for North America (I live in the Toronto, Canada area, otherwise known as GTA (Greater Toronto Area))
However, I want to update again as the maps are very outdated now, there are new streets and neighbourhoods that are not on it, and I hear the new ones even have better graphics and all (2008 looks way better and includes a 3D view that the 2005 DVD did not).
However, no matter how many searches in google or ebay or wherever I do, I cannot find anything above V10, which in my logic means it is from 2010, which again means that the maps are probably from late 2009.
Is this the last of the dvd's that will come for my car and navigation system in it? If not, please help me find the 2011 or 2012 version (official COMAND upgrade site by Mercedes?), and if version 10 is the last, when is it from, and if it is old, is there anything I can do to upgrade my navigation system? I see on ebay that the whole audio/nav unit can be upgraded for under $300, and since the one site I found the v.10 of the nav DVD wants $250 just for the DVD, I figure that could be a way to go (only if it is a must, I don't have a problem with anything, it all looks and works great, including phone and audio and even GPS, besides being outdated).
Please, if anyone could shed some light on version 10 and what year that is from, and if there is anything after that, planned or out already, for North America for my car.
Amazingly, there is no shortage of nav dvd's for 2011 and even current for 2006 models of ALL other Mercedes except S-Class. I owned the 2006 R350 before this one (I wish I could have kept it, but it was a lease and they wanted too much for the buy-out), and when I search, i find dvd's for the R class as well as C, E, CLK etc no problem. It's only my S430 2006 that is eluding me, apparently S-Class has it's own style of navigation whereas all other Mercs have another that they share (what a crock).

V10 is the latest one listed on the Navteq website for the 2006 W220. I hane been waiting as well for a newer version. I think the V10 is close to two years old.

I would love some input on the OP please. Has anyonce changed the entire NAV/DVD/Audio system before? How does it work with the steering wheel and on board display? I am thinking of going this route if I Merc gets back to me with the bad news that version 10 is the last they will make, as that will mean in a few years even that version will be badly outdated (as I said, even my 2008 version, while looking way better than the 2005 version it came with, is now badly outdated as far as maps and nav is concerned).
