Wheels/Tires, What Fits?

OK, brand new here and brand new to MBZ. Proud new owner of an 01, S430. Just really wondering what wheels/tires will fit under this thing without any alterations, adapters etc.
Now I was given this phony assed original window sticker from the used car dealer I bought this thing that says this thing has sport package with 18" AMG wheels. Obviously they arent on it. Just stock 16". I don't really want to go into the all kinds of bad on the deal I made and all I did wrong, too late plus I LOVE THIS CAR!
Any way to tell if this really has sport pkg? Says on the phony window sticker there is body mod as part of it.
Will staggered 18's fit under there just fine or do I need to mod the body or something? I know the operators manual has the info for wheels and it says the AMG's that would have come on here are staggered (8.5/9.5) 18" offset 44/46 Most of the wheels I see advertised unless they are those direct replacements are what they call 35+ offset.

Whats the true story? is there a tire wheel matrix here somewhere?
TIA

If your car is a real sports package you should have the AMG kit which looks like what's on S55 models of your year. Also on your front bumper should have a mesh grill. The side skrits are different and the rear bumper as well. As of putting those 18 inch wheels on your car you won't have a single problem no rubs it will fit and ride perfect.

Thanks I was able to compare a "Sport" model and mine is not one. Once you've identified the sport model it's impossible to miss all the differences. Thanks for the info on the wheels, ordering em today.

Any pics of the car? What size/type of wheels are you looking at? You may need to run spacers with certain aftermarket.

Sure, here's a pic of the car and a pic of the wheels I am thinking about. They are staggered 18's, 8.5 front and 9.5 rear with +35 offset. I really think the chrome will look good with the color although I do still have my eye on some AMG's as well.
When you mention spacers, what exactly are you referring to? Where do they go and when/why would be the cause to need to use them? Thanks
