I have a 2003 mercedes s430 4matic With 167,002 still running like a champ til 2 days ago secondary cat got clogged and I couldn't even reach speeds over 10mph I couldn't drive to get it fixed and the cat that went bad I just had replaced last year for $720 smh now 1 year later went out again and shop won't repair under warranty cause a paper was never mailed in... I cut the secondary cat off myself so i could atleast get it to normal to go to work but its very loud lol later on i found a shop that will gut it and put it back on for $295 If I gut it can I pass inspection next July fine ? I will be keeping the rest of exhaust intact no mods or other removals will this affect sound with a secondary cat gutting?

yea u will be fine. You can install an x pipe for less though. Buy a Magnaflow Tru-x for 100 online and have the shop just weld it in place. It will also sound better ,search youtube
